Six people, 4 days of coliving, fast wifi and beautiful mountain views.
Together with Fanny Caloz and Morgane Oléron I had the pleasure to organize our first experimental workation at swissescape Grimentz, in the French-speaking Valais (Switzerland). It was important from the beginning that we give the participants a lot of personal space and not overwhelm them with a full activity program. Our participants from the fields of fintech, medical and scientific writing, and management consulting complemented each other very well. They all came with the expectation of always having time to do their day-to-day business in addition to the workshops. Answering emails, holding Zoom meetings, making phone calls or creating quotes.

A Workation needs the 7Cs: Community, Coworking, Coliving, Conferences, Colearning, Collaboration, Cobalancing.
This short workation of only 4 days and with a small group had the goal that the participants could get an idea about the trend of coliving. I am a big fan of empowerment and therefore I strongly believe that it is much better to experience something than to read theories about it or hear from others how it works. The principle of a workstation is simple: you live under the same roof, eat breakfast together and then you start working on your laptop at the big coworking table. If you need some peace and privacy, you can retire to your room or book the Skype room for undisturbed calls. A first joint session can then take place before lunch, ideally scheduled for a maximum of one hour and held by someone from the team. Our topics over the four days were: Business Speed Dating, Growing a Business, Mastermind & Skill sharing, Power of Community. In the afternoon there is time again for the daily business and in the evening we go out to eat in a restaurant or cook a delicious dinner together.
